Communities In Schools of the Northeast (CISNE)CISNE, which is housed in The Roanoke Center, is a state-sponsored organization that connects community resources with local schools to help young people learn, stay in school, and prepare for life. Our program, which is a division of Communities In Schools of North Carolina
Communities In Schools is the nation’s largest stay-in school network, serving just over one million youth in 154 communities across the United States. CIS is providing the link between teachers and the community – by bringing caring adults into the schools and community sites to meet children’s needs. This link gives children the much-needed opportunity to focus on learning and their future. For more information on CISNE programs or to volunteer contact: Robin Phillips at (252) 539-2236 ext. 263 or rphillips@roanokeelectric.com.
